Description
Sonic Heroes is a fast-paced 3D platforming adventure that brings together multiple heroes and rivals from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. Players follow four different teams — Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Rose, and Team Chaotix — as they race across colourful worlds to stop the evil Doctor Eggman from carrying out another plan for global domination.
The gameplay introduces a team-based system where players switch instantly between three characters, each specialising in speed, flight, or power abilities needed to overcome obstacles and enemies. Levels feature high-speed platforming, loops, rails, combat sections, and large-scale boss encounters across varied environments including cities, jungles, casinos, and futuristic bases. Cooperative teamwork mechanics and multiple story campaigns add replayability. Its energetic pace, colourful presentation, and unique team gameplay helped make it one of the defining Sonic titles on the PlayStation 2.
