Mirror's Edge Catalyst reboots the parkour focused series with an open world city, following courier Faith Connors as she becomes entangled in a resistance movement against an oppressive corporate government. Fluid first person movement lets players run, jump, and slide across rooftops with an emphasis on maintaining momentum over combat.
Combat leans on quick takedowns and evasive movement rather than traditional weapons, keeping the focus firmly on traversal even during confrontations. Side content and time trial challenges are scattered across the open city, rewarding mastery of the movement systems. With its open world take on first person parkour, it expands the original game's distinctive traversal focus.
